Peek and miss have originated from flame drift which root is difference in coal, feed speed, particles size and air speed etc. Now the observation angle is 3-6°, 9-12° or 12-16°, so no company can completely solve the peek and miss. The method that allowed to peek and doesn’t leak to see orsupport by DCS logic did not fundamentally solve the problem.
Even if using a large observation angle, logic ability for flame judgment is inadequate. The way to solve the problem is to use a large observation angle and high pixel resolution.
One of the solutions is using CCD, that takes a large observation angle and high pixel resolution, but full combustion coefficient at the micro level is inadequate. The high-speed CCD and CPU must be used to solve the problem, they are very expansive at least now.
